STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— A minor vehicle collision on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge into Staten Island closed multiple lanes, according to MTA officials.

In a notification sent out by the MTA at 3:22 p.m., two Staten Island-bound upper-level lanes were blocked.

“MTAPD is on the scene, and they’re working to clear it,” a spokesman for the MTA told the Advance/SILive.com. “The crash is on the ramp coming off the Gowanus Expressway to the Staten Island bound upper level of the bridge.”

Emergency transmissions indicated that injuries were reported.

The FDNY did not respond to a request for comment by the time of publication.
