FLATBUSH, Brooklyn (WABC) — Police have arrested and charged a man in connection to the grisly discovery of body parts stuffed in a trash bag in Flatbush.
Authorities charged Christopher Moss, 38, with concealment of a human corpse.
On Friday, a neighbor found a man’s head and torso in the trash outside a building on East 21st Street in Flatbush.
Police have not identified the victim.
The superintendent of the building saw a tenant who placed several bags in the trash on Friday.
“I just see a lot of flies. I don’t know what’s going on. I just see a lot of flies. A lot of flies flying around. It’s crazy,” Danielle, a resident, said.
Sources say that man is the roommate and boyfriend of the man found dead and dismembered.
His torso and head were found in a blue trash bin, wrapped in plastic, officials said.
It was a crew repairing the street who smelled it first.
But that smell has reportedly been filling the hallway upstairs for days.
The man who lives next to the couple spoke to Eyewitness News.
“As soon as that door opened that whiff would just smack you in the face. And we would have the door closed but like you’d be on the other side of the apartment from the entrance and you would still smell it. It definitely was the body,” he said.
Several neighbors say the couple would smoke outside every day.
