STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Two of Staten Island’s three Community Boards will resume committee meetings the week of Monday, Jan. 5.
While not full board meetings, topics such as land use applications and liquor licenses are just a few of the items up for public discussion next week.
Below is the schedule, provided by representatives from Staten Island’s Community Boards.
Community Board 1
Community Board 1 has no meetings.
Community Board 2
On Tuesday, Jan. 6, the Community Board 2 Land Use Committee will meet at 7 p.m. in the first floor conference room at 1110 South Ave., Travis.
The committee will review an application filed with the Department of Buildings to reapportion one single lot at 374 Greeley Ave. — Block 3703, Lot 33 — into five separate tax lots.
Community Board 3
Community Board 3 will host several public hearings next week.
At 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 6, two speakers will present to the board’s Health and Human Services Committee.
First, Brent Alexander, executive director of Center For Hope Staten Island, will speak about expanding services for older adults, youth, and individuals with developmental disabilities in the borough.
Ann Anesta from the Organization for NYC Public Service Retirees will also speak with the board about diminishing health-care benefits for public service employees, which the group says are threatened.
On Wednesday, Jan. 7, the Traffic and Transportation Committee will have a meeting at 6:30 p.m., but no agenda was provided.
Then at 7 p.m., the Community Alliance Committee will consider two liquor license applications. First, a new license for G’s Cheesesteaks, 2955 Veterans Road West in Charleston.
The committee will also consider a class change with the New York State Liquor Authority for Pizzaioli, 694 Arthur Kill Rd. in Eltingville.
All meetings will be held in the Community Board office located at 1243 Woodrow Road.
Open to the public
