Under the Fulop administration, it was rare to see a mayoral ally on the City Council vote against one of the mayor’s initiatives. A 2021 Jersey City Times analysis found that Steve Fulop’s six council allies voted as a block more than 99% of the time in the first 40 weeks that year.
The Jersey City Times wanted to know whether the councilmember-elects could be counted on to support a mayor Solomon as faithfully as their predecessors had supported Mayor Fulop.
