The Schenectady County Legislature is taking up a resolution to determine its next county manager Monday night.

The previous county manager, Rory Fluman, resigned at the end of last month after being placed on administrative leave. He had served in the role since 2019.

The county is considering Bob Lawton to become the interim county manager. County officials say Lawton previously served as clerk to the legislature and in other government administration jobs.

Gary Hughes, the chair of the Schenectady County Legislature, says Lawton’s “knowledge of county operations and leadership experience make him well-suited to serve as Interim County Manager.”

The county manager is an appointed position, decided every two years.

Monday’s meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. at the county office building.
