A fire ripped through a deli on Findlay Avenue in the Claremont section of The Bronx early this morning, leaving two people with injuries.
According to the FDNY, the call came in at 3:18 a.m. for a fire at 1365 Findlay Ave. Residents say the deli is a staple in the area and under new management.
Windows on all four floors of the building were blown out from the fire. The fire reached five-alarms, prompting a response from over 100 firefighters to battle the blaze.
According to officials, a firefighter and one other person suffered minor injuries. Both are expected to be OK.
News 12 has learned two cars were parked at both fire hydrants on the scene. The FDNY emphasized that seconds matter and parking at a hydrant only delays firefighters in their process to save lives.
Due to a massive response, multiple streets remained blocked off. Residents are asked to plan accordingly before heading out.
