Deputies investigating possible bomb threat in Queen Creek

QUEEN CREEK, AZ (AZFamily) — Authorities say an active investigation is underway after a bomb threat was reported in Queen Creek on Monday morning.

According to Sgt. Joaquin Enriquez with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), deputies are investigating a “potential bomb threat” in the area of 178th Way and San Tan Boulevard, east of Recker Road.

MCSO is on scene of a potential bomb threat in the area of 25900 south 178th Way and is asking the public to avoid San Tan Boulevard (southbound) and Mews Road, between Recker Road and 181st Street, while deputies continue to investigate, PIO is en-route. Thanks pic.twitter.com/Eekss0Ii8x

The public is asked to avoid southbound San Tan Boulevard and Mews Road, between 181st Street and Recker, as deputies work to secure the area.

MCSO did not provide specifics about the bomb threat.
