Chez Ma Tante’s forthcoming sibling has a name

The new construction spot in Soho opening under Brooklyn bistro Chez Ma Tante’s chef Jake Leiber will be called Nadia’s, a spokesperson confirmed. It’s named after his mother, who was a maitre’d for 20 years before becoming an interior designer. The New York Post reported that Leiber signed a 4,437-square-foot ground-floor lease at 555 Greenwich Street. Its land comes with a backstory: The 6.5-million-square-foot Hudson Square Portfolio is made up of 13 buildings, including 555 Greenwich, and sits on land originally bestowed to New York City’s Trinity Church in 1705 by Queen Anne of Great Britain. The restaurant is on track to open later this season.
