As reported by Mary Frost in the Eagle, yesterday at 3:34 pm fire broke out at the five story apartment building at 75 Pierrepont Street. It appears to have started when an air conditioner caught fire; it later “exploded and fell to the ground” according to Henry Street resident James LaRosa, quoted in the Eagle story. There was a “massive response consisting of 21 units with 79 Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel.” Seven people were injured; three of them seriously. The three inculed one firefighter and two residents of the building.
