KARE 11’s Michelle Baik says an armored vehicle was used to ram a hole in the side of the home so officers could enter.

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. — At least two people are reported in custody after shots were fired and occupants of a Brooklyn Park home engaged in a standoff with police.

Multiple squads arrived at the home near the intersection of Laramie Trail and Newton Ave. N. after 911 calls reporting gunshots. Officers were heard over a bullhorn telling those inside the residence to come out, but there was no response.

“You are under arrest. Come to the front door now, hands up,” an officer exhorted. “We are not going away.”

SWAT personnel were eventually called in, and an armored vehicle was used to ram a hole in the side of the structure. A KARE 11 crew at the scene saw armed officers kicking in a door to enter another area of the home.

KARE 11’s Michelle Baik reports that at least two people were taken into custody, and others were seen exiting the residence, including a child.

This is a developing story. KARE 11 will have the latest details as they become available.Â
