The man accused of murdering a beloved father on his way to work in the Bronx is undergoing a mental evaluation after being arrested on Tuesday night.

Sean Jones, 38, was arrested on Tuesday, and charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

His arraignment is expected later Wednesday.

Jones is accused of killing 53-year-old George Ennin, a father of two, who worked as a security guard.

Ennin was randomly attacked as he walked to work on Monday afternoon. Surveillance video appears to show the victim dodge a surprise kick from the suspect.

The victim tried to get away but stumbled and fell — unable to get away from the suspect’s repeated strikes with a knife.

Authorities say Ennin was wearing his security guard uniform at the time of the attack.

Neighbors spoke out and said they are heartbroken.

“This man was one in a million, he was a diamond in the rough,” said the victim’s neighbor Michele King. “He raised two daughters single-handedly.”

Ennin was a girl dad, and was well-loved and respected for it.

Police say Jones is a career criminal who has been arrested nearly two dozen times since 2013.

Authorities do not believe the two men knew each other.
