Mayor Zohran Mamdani hosted 70 New York City influencers at City Hall Tuesday afternoon, in what he called the first “new media” press conference.
The Mayor’s Office said the event covered issues ranging from housing and affordability to fitness, parenting, food, sports, personal finance, career advice, comedy, music among others.
“Today’s event will primarily include NYC-based micro-creators who represent specific boroughs and neighborhoods, professions like teachers, doctors, and nurses,” Mamdani spokesperson Dora Peckec wrote in a statement to News 12.
Before Mamdani took office, he held a similar meeting with influencers about a week before Election Day. Some attendees included:
Christian Divyne, a comedian from Brooklyn with 737,700 followers on TikTok
Reggie, a Brooklyn comedian and rapper with 26,500 followers on TikTok
Cassie Wilson, the first influencer to make a social media video with the mayor in 2024. She has 334,000 followers on TikTok
Malik, a NYC comedian with 89,800 followers on TikTok
Tina, an influencer with 674,600 followers on TikTok
About 70 other influencers attended the first meeting, however their names were not immediately available. Of the five influencers News 12 were able to find, all appear to be pro Mamdani.
