MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) — Police are searching for a suspect after a woman was stabbed in the head on board a subway train in Manhattan on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened on a southbound No. 4 train around 1:50 p.m.

Police say the train was near Lexington Avenue and East 59th Street at the time of the incident.

The victim, a 57-year-old woman, was involved in a verbal dispute with an unidentified individual, according to the NYPD.

EMS transported the victim to a local hospital in stable condition.

Police say that the suspect, who fled the station, is a woman around 25 years old and 5’3”. She was last seen wearing a maroon jacket and gray pants.
