DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — THE BROOKLYN AND MANHATTAN Solid Waste Advisory boards are holding a public hearing on NYC’s Department of Sanitation’s 10-year Draft 2026 Solid Waste Management Plan. The hearing, at Borough Hall, 209 Joralemon St., on Monday, Jan. 12, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., will serve as a forum for community members and others who are impacted by the city’s waste policies. These include residents living in environmental justice neighborhoods that host waste transfer stations, as well as people living in areas receiving nearly 14 million tons of New York City’s waste each year for disposal at landfills and incinerators.
