STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — St. Peter’s impressive 29-18 CHSFL come-from-behind victory over Cardinal Hayes was made possible after the Eagles kept the Cardinals off the scoreboard in the second half.

Hayes, which is a AAA program, had a whopping 13 first downs and 231 total yards in the first half due largely to the combination of quarterback Kyle Mercorelli and tight end Aiden Howard. Both players are 6-foot-4 and the passing tandem connected on six passes for 113 yards and a touchdown.
