MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – Two people were taken to the hospital after a head-on crash Friday afternoon in Manhattan, authorities said.
The collision was reported around 4:14 p.m. Friday near 4th Street and Fort Riley Boulevard, on the south edge of downtown Manhattan.
Riley County police said a 2011 GMC Terrain, driven by Chassity Rathke, 49, of Council Grove, collided head-on with a 2019 Mercedes-Benz driven by Tiffany Massenburg, 40, of Manhattan.

Authorities said the crash occurred in a turn lane.
Both drivers were transported to Ascension Via Christi Hospital for treatment of injuries they sustained in the crash.
No citations were issued, officials said.
