1. High wind warnings Friday for most of Western New York

Niagara, Orleans, Erie, Genesee, Chautauqua and Wyoming counties are under a high wind warning until 10 p.m. Friday. Gusts up to 60 miles an hour are expected. These winds will continue to be strong tonight before tapering off on Saturday.

2. Macy’s to close its store at the Boulevard Mall in Amherst

In a statement, Macy’s said the decision allows the company to “focus on improving nearby Macy’s locations and invest in the stores and digital experiences where customers are choosing to shop today.”

3. State leaders tout help for New York farmers staying resilient in the face of challenges

Expanding dairy processing, improving climate-resilient farming practices, increasing food access and overcoming challenges remain top priorities for the state, agriculture leaders said Thursday.

4. Bills rule out linebacker Bernard, cornerback Hairston against Jaguars

Bernard did not practice this week due to a calf injury, while Hairston has been treating an ankle injury. Hamlin has been out with a pectoral injury since early October.

5. Josh Allen and the Bills begin their Super Bowl quest at the overlooked Jaguars

Allen opens his latest quest to get Buffalo back to the NFL’s ultimate stage on Sunday. That’s the way most outsiders will look at the matchup featuring the third-seeded Jaguars (13-4) and the sixth-seeded Bills (12-5).

6. Report: Ravens request to interview Bills OC Joe Brady for head coach position

The Baltimore Ravens have requested to interview Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady for their head coach position, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports. Brady will be free to interview after Buffalo plays.

Buffalo, Jacksonville mayors place friendly wager on Sunday’s playoff game

Buffalo Mayor Sean Ryan and Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan have placed a friendly wager on Sunday’s Wild Card playoff game between the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars.

The mayors agreed to bet an order of Buffalo chicken wings and a donation to the Feeding Northeast Florida Food Bank against an order of Mayport shrimp and a donation to Feedmore Western New York.
