NYPD data reveals four separate incidents across three neighborhoods, including two thefts that happened on the same day in one area.CompStat
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Police are investigating several personal electronic device robberies that occurred across Staten Island during the week of Oct. 6 to Oct. 12, according to the NYPD.
The following incidents were reported via CompStat, the NYPD’s data system:
Oct. 6 at 3 p.m., a robbery involving personal electronics was reported in an open area near Jersey Street and Corson Avenue in New Brighton.Oct. 7 at 7 a.m., another personal electronic device robbery occurred near Bay and Canal streets in Stapleton.On Oct. 11, two incidents were reported to police. At 2 a.m., a robbery occurred near Maguire and Rathbun avenues in Prince’s Bay. Later that same day at 4 p.m., another personal electronic device robbery was reported near Bay Street and Lynhurst Avenue in Rosebank.
According to the NYPD, robberies are down 5% borough-wide so far this year, with 235 incidents reported compared to 246 during the same period last year.
