STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staff from Gateway National Recreation Area will present an overview next week to Community Board 3 about projects underway at Great Kills Park.

Below are details of all meetings planned next week, provided by each of Staten Island’s three Community Boards.

Community Board 1

There will be a full board meeting of Community Board 1 on Jan. 13 at 6:30 p.m in St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 347 Davis Ave., West Brighton.

During the meeting, representatives from the New York City Department of Sanitation will hold a Q&A on Community Board 1 concerns. Up for discussion are the new garbage pails, fines, etc.

Community Board 2

Community Board 2 has no meetings scheduled next week.

Community Board 3

The Parks & Recreation and Environmental Committee will host the meeting with Gateway staff at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 13 to discuss Great Kills Park.

On Jan. 14, a Land Use Committee public hearing will take place at 7 p.m. There is no set agenda.

Also on Jan. 14, the Ethics, Rules and By-laws Committee will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. at which it will review the board’s current responsibilities, rules, and conduct. This discussion aims to ensure accountability and uphold the integrity and transparency of our governing processes.
