1. Thousands of nurses go on strike at NYC hospitals
Nearly 15,000 nurses went on strike Monday morning at some of New York City’s largest hospital systems after months of contract negotiations failed.
The walkout affects Mount Sinai Hospital, Mount Sinai Morningside, Mount Sinai West, Montefiore and NewYork-Presbyterian, with nurses citing unresolved disputes over safe staffing levels, health care benefits and protections from workplace violence.
2. NYC demonstrators call for accountability after ICE shootings
Demonstrators rallied across New York City over the weekend to demand accountability following two shootings involving federal immigration agents.
