A Brooklyn man likely died of natural causes before his body was dumped in a bin outside the building where he shared an apartment with his boyfriend — who is now accused of ditching the corpse, police sources said Monday.

Although no foul play is suspected in 33-year-old Darrell Montgomery’s death, cops arrested his boyfriend, Christopher Moss, 38, and charged him with concealing the corpse.

Moss was also charged with assault on a police officer and attempted robbery after he head-butted a cop and tried to grab the officer’s gun when police arrested him early Sunday after a tipster alerted them to Moss’ location about a mile from the home.

Construction workers found Montgomery’s body in a trash bag inside a large blue plastic bin near his building’s garbage area on E. 21st St. near Ditmas Ave. in Flatbush. about 9 a.m. Friday after smelling a foul odor.

The body appeared dismembered but was later determined to be complete — but very decomposed.

Montgomery’s family is reeling from his death.

“He just basically put my brother in a fetal position and tied him up in a bag, in a bin, and threw him out and went on and didn’t come back,” Montgomery’s sister said. “You just sit there and just throw them away, like they’re garbage, like they’re nothing. He was loved. My brother was loved.”

She said police told the family that Moss told cops he didn’t know what to do after Montgomery, 33, died in the apartment they had shared for about two years.

Shakeema didn’t know her brother was in a relationship and has never met Moss.

“My brother was secretive,” she said. “He didn’t want to let people know that that’s who he was dealing with — because had we known this was going on, or whatever happened, we would intervene and help my brother. My brother just always was a closed book.”

It is unclear when Montgomery died. His sister, who lives out of state, had not spoken to him for more than a month.

The city Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy to determine Montgomery’s cause of death.

“(Moss) saw that my brother was having an episode, or whatever what was going on, and he didn’t know what to do,” Shakeema said of what cops told her Moss relayed to them. “And my brother passed and (Moss) just went on about living his life — and just basically not knowing what to do.”

She said cops told the family Moss ditched the body when he could no longer tolerate the smell.

“He just decided to throw him out — and just decided to just disperse of him like it was nothing,” she said. “Nobody in their right mind would just sit there and let somebody just rot away.”

Moss was awaiting arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court Monday.
