CENTRAL PARK, Manhattan (PIX11) – Protesters are taking to New York City streets on Sunday against the Trump administration’s actions in Venezuela and the fatal shooting of Renee Good by an ICE agent in Minneapolis.
Thousands of people are denouncing the U.S. military raid that led to the capture and detention of ousted Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, as well as recent ICE immigration raids. Organizers of the “No Kings” rally told PIX11 News they’re calling on Democratic leadership to block funding for ICE and the war.
Protesters were seen holding signs that read “NO ICE!” “Abolish ICE” and “Don’t Obey,” according to an X post from the New York City Democratic Socialists of America.
Former City Comptroller Brad Lander, who is running for Congress, along with Councilmember Alexa Avilés and Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum, all plan to speak at the rally.

The protest comes after the U.S. military seized a fifth oil tanker on Saturday. President Donald Trump also held a meeting with top oil executives at the White House, discussing the future of crude reserves in Venezuela.
The event kicked off at 1 p.m. near Central Park at East 60th Street and 5th Avenue.
