Heavy truck traffic is causing delays on the Goethals Bridge and the Brooklyn-bound Staten Island Expressway on the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026.(511NY)
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Delays are reported on the New Jersey-bound Goethals Bridge approaching Staten Island due to truck traffic.
Congestion is reported around 6:45 a.m. on the Brooklyn-bound Staten Island Expressway at the first Staten Island exit for Forest and Gulf avenues.
The truck inspection area also is closed because of the traffic snarl near the span, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
Delays extend to around Richmond Avenue on the Brooklyn-bound expressway.
