Nearly 200 families gathered at the Joan & Alan Bernikow JCC of Staten Island on Sunday, Jan. 11 for a Character Breakfast that brought children face-to-face with their favorite storybook and screen personalities.

The event featured meet-and-greets, dancing and sing-alongs with Elsa and Anna, Mickey Mouse, Bluey, Stitch, Elmo and the Cat in the Hat.

“Here at the JCC, we love bringing families together to create special memories,” said Orit Lender, CEO of the JCC. “It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as our little ones met their favorite characters.”

The JCC is planning its next family event, a Purim Carnival, for March 1 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 1466 Manor Road.

The costume carnival will feature inflatables, games, hamantaschen baking, Purim crafts, face painting and balloon art.

Tickets are $5 per child for JCC members and $10 per child for non-members. Adults attend free. Tickets can be purchased in advance online.
