During her State of the State speech on Tuesday, Gov. Kathy Hochul spoke directly to New Yorkers, delivering her vision for the coming year.

That includes pushing back against the Trump administration’s immigration actions and budget cuts, as well as making life more affordable in New York.

Hochul, who is up for reelection this year, also put an emphasis on bringing universal child care to the entire state — helping Mayor Zohran Mamdani deliver on a key campaign promise.

Next week, the governor is expected to unveil her budget proposal and break down how she plans to pay for all of her proposals, kicking off negotiations with the state Legislature.

Hochul joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Wednesday to talk more about her agenda.
