DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — ROCK BAND MY Morning Jacket wrapped up its three-night run at the Brooklyn Paramount on Saturday with a surprise assist from bassist Karina Rykman, according to Jambands.
Led by frontman Jim James, the band kicked off the run on Oct. 16 to mark the 20th anniversary of its 2005 album “Z.” The opening night featured the live debut of a new song, “The Devil’s Peanut Butter.” Rykman joined the group on Friday and returned for the final show, adding her energy to the encore performance, as well as to a debut cover of Black Sabbath’s “Fairies Wear Boots.”
The closing concert capped an eclectic series that mixed fan favorites, new material and deep-cut covers on the Brooklyn leg of the band’s fall tour.
