ELMO STUDIOS is an architecture and interior design practice based in New York City. The studio takes a fully integrated approach, treating architecture and interiors as inseparable parts of a single design vision. Rooted in a philosophy of refined minimalism, the work is defined by clarity, precision, and material integrity. At its core, the studio is driven by curiosity and a commitment to innovation—continually rethinking how space is inhabited and experienced. Projects are carried through all phases, from concept to construction, with a focus on thoughtful design and long-term impact.
The studio places extraordinary value on documentation. We believe great architecture relies not only on vision, but on the clarity, precision, and craft of its drawings and models. Every line matters, every sheet matters.
The Role
We are seeking a Technical Architect to play a central role in the execution and delivery of ELMO STUDIOS projects. This position is for a designer who takes genuine pride in documentation and detailing, and who enjoys the process of translating design intent into clear, buildable work.
The ideal candidate is deeply invested in how ideas are resolved and constructed. They are highly organized, precise, and comfortable immersing themselves in complex technical problems—working through details, coordinating systems, and ensuring that the full design vision is carried through to construction with rigor and care.
This is a production-focused role that still requires strong design judgment and a clear understanding of proportion, materiality, and spatial intent.
Key Responsibilities
Produce and coordinate complete construction drawing sets in Revit from concept through construction
Develop and maintain Revit models with clarity, consistency, and accuracy across all project phases
Build detailed Rhino 3D models and produce Enscape renderings that support design intent and technical clarity
Translate design concepts into well-documented, constructible solutions
Maintain high graphic and technical standards across all documentation and deliverables
Identify inefficiencies and contribute to the refinement of documentation and modeling workflows
Collaborate closely with design teams to ensure alignment between architecture and interiors
Manage time, deadlines, and deliverables with rigor and accountability
Qualifications
Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture
Minimum of 6 years of professional experience, ideally in high-end Residential, Hospitality, and/or Retail work
Expert proficiency in Autodesk Revit, with experience managing models through all project phases
Strong working knowledge of Rhino and Enscape for modeling and visualization
Advanced understanding of construction methods, detailing, and MEP coordination—particularly in residential projects
Proven ability to produce and coordinate comprehensive construction documentation
Strong design sensibility and attention to proportion, materiality, and craft
Highly organized, dependable, and precise in both work and communication
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Workplace Requirement
This is a full-time, in-office position based in New York City, requiring attendance at the studio five days per week.
Site Presence & Mobility
The role requires regular site visits and active participation during construction phases. Candidates must be comfortable navigating active construction sites, attending contractor meetings, and conducting field reviews. The ability to commute efficiently across New York City is essential.
