Former New York City Mayor Eric Adams was involved in a heated verbal exchange with a fellow airline passenger at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) after a flight from New York, according to video circulating online.
Footage first shared this week on Reddit and later spread across social media platforms shows Adams and a masked woman exchanging profanities as passengers walked past them on a jet bridge.
In the video, the woman can be heard saying, “Eric Adams, please punch me in the face. I would love it if you punched me in the face.” Adams responds, “Go f— yourself.”
The woman then replies with additional profanity and comments about Adams’ time as mayor. Adams later says, “I’m not mayor anymore. Those days are over,” before warning, “You’re gonna see the Brooklyn in me.”
It is not clear what led to the confrontation or what happened before the video begins.
Todd Shapiro, a spokesperson for Adams, said the former mayor is now a private citizen and was being harassed. Shapiro said the video clip is “selectively edited, lacks critical context, and misrepresents what actually occurred,” but did not elaborate on what happened outside the footage.
Adams did not immediately respond to requests for comment. He later shared a report about the exchange on the social media platform X with the caption, “Exactly.”
Adams, also a former New York City police captain, served one term as mayor before ending his reelection bid last year.
It was not immediately clear why Adams was in North Texas at the time of the incident.
