Dr. Jayne D. Rivas, 78, died on Dec. 18, 2025. Born on Staten Island, Jayne graduated from St. Peter’s Girls High School before earning degrees from SUNY Plattsburgh and SUNY Downstate College of Medicine.
Throughout her distinguished medical career, she served as director of the Pediatrics Training Program at St. Vincent’s Hospital on Staten Island and later as Medical Director of The New York Foundling Hospital and Chairperson of Pediatrics at St. Vincent’s in Manhattan.
She co-authored an organic chemistry textbook and was honored as a SUNY distinguished alumna. An active member of Sacred Heart parish, Jayne sang in the church choir and volunteered as camp physician at Birch Family Camp. Patricia F. Hennessy, 94, passed away on Jan. 2, 2026. Born in Richmond and raised in Dongan Hills, Pat graduated from New Dorp High School and married Ray Golterman in 1952. She managed books and advertising for the Lancaster Women’s Shop and co-founded the Lancaster Men’s Shop in West Brighton. Later in her career, she worked as a real estate broker in Bridgwater, N.J., before retiring to the Jersey Shore where she dedicated her time to family and artistic pursuits.
