CONEY ISLAND — BROOKLYN FC SIGNED midfielder Peter Mangione, the cousin of Luigi Mangione, as the club continues to assemble its inaugural men’s roster ahead of the 2026 season in the USL Championship, according to a Brooklyn FC press release.

Mangione, 24, joins Brooklyn FC after playing for FC Cincinnati 2, the MLS NEXT Pro affiliate of FC Cincinnati. A Hunt Valley, Md., native, he joined professional soccer after a decorated college career at Penn State, where he scored 31 goals and earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2021 and 2023.

In 2025, Mangione made 28 appearances for FC Cincinnati 2, logging more than 2,200 minutes with two goals and five assists. Club officials described him as a high-motor midfielder capable of contributing on both sides of the ball.

Brooklyn FC is set to open its inaugural USL Championship season on March 8, hosting Indy Eleven at Maimonides Park. Additional roster signings are expected in the coming weeks.
