Travel resolutions for the new year usually include bucket list trips to big international destinations like Europe and Asia but, really, if you want to start 2026 off right, your best bet is booking a few nights at The Langham, New York.
My husband and I decided to end last year that way because we were headed to New York for the holidays and, since The Langham Huntington, Pasadena is one of our favorite places to hide away on the West Coast, we wanted to finally experience the brand on the East Coast. Spoiler alert: We loved it.

The 60 story skyscraper that houses The Langham, New York is a magnificent part of the city skyline, with the luxury hotel occupying the first 16 floors. Standing tall on Fifth Avenue, between 36th and 37th Streets, it offers a quick walk to the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Broadway shows and so much more.
Walking into the lobby, with its eye-popping Alex Katz paintings, inviting couches and friendly staff, is like coming home. In fact, one of the most New York features of the hotel is that, just like in the city’s residential buildings, you’ll find families, couples, solo travelers and business people from all over the world co-mingling and enjoying their shared spaces.

I am a huge fan of executive lounges and The Langham Club immediately became one of my favorites, joining its cozy counterpart in Pasadena. The New York Langham Club has a more sophisticated, urban vibe but is equally homey with a reading nook, an attentive and super-friendly staff and a wide variety of outstanding culinary options changed out five times per day.
It’s definitely worth booking a room with Club access so you can take advantage of all these perks. The only downside is that it makes it oh so tempting to just stay in and eat every meal there because the food is so good — but you’re in New York City and shouldn’t miss out on all the great restaurants!
One of those restaurants is actually right inside the hotel itself. Ai Fiori is known for its award-winning French and Italian cuisine and we’re determined to eat there next time we’re in New York. The name means “among the flowers” in Italian and the floral decor provides a lovely backdrop for what looks like a very special meal.

The Langham New York offers 234 of the city’s roomiest accommodations, from (aptly named) superior guest rooms to penthouse suites designed by Roche Bobois and featuring private terraces.
Our one bedroom Empire State View Suite was massive and styled like the New York apartment of our dreams, with a gigantic walk in closet, dreamy Duxiana mattress and sun-soaked marble bathroom with a deep soaking tub and separate rainfall shower.

We appreciated many of the Langham’s thoughtful details, including the Chromecast-ready TV, complimentary bottles of water and the signature pink and gold Langham pens of which I seem to be making a collection.
Dylan’s Candy Bar and other sweet treats
A visit to The Langham New York is even sweeter with the addition of a Dylan’s Candy Bar cart in the lobby.

It feels right that The Langham New York has partnered with Dylan’s Candy Bar — another beloved luxury brand that just makes people happy. There’s a colorful cart in the lobby, where giant rainbow lollipops seemed to be the bestseller; guest room mini bars offer some of Dylan’s signature bear banks, chocolates and sour candies; and The Langham Club has apothecary jars of everything from dark chocolate caramel bites to cosmic candy rings ready to pack in to-go bags.

The most special treat of all, though, was the amenity that was delivered to our room as a welcome gift. These housemade chocolates were such pieces of art, it seemed sinful to bite into them. But when we finally did, they tasted as amazing as they looked.

Langham Hotels & Resorts just celebrated its 160th anniversary and the brand is getting ready to triple its portfolio over the next decade, with new hotels scheduled to open in Bangkok, Venice, Kuala Lumpur, Seattle and Tokyo.
This year, I’m excited about revisiting The Langham Huntington, Pasadena to experience their recent renovations (how can it possibly get better?) and, of course, returning to The Langham New York for a relaxing staycation.
With The Langham topping my list of favorite hotels on both coasts now, I’m thinking a stay at each one of their hotels around the world would be a great addition to my new year’s resolutions. Or, at least, to my travel bucket list. And yours.
