STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) — A 59-year-old man died after being attacked by a dog in a Staten Island home on Sunday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

Police said officers responded to 608 New Dorp Ln. at 4:09 p.m. for a report of a man being bitten multiple times inside the home.

The 59-year-old was found with wounds consistent with dog bites. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials.

The Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

Sources told PIX11 News that the dog was taken into the custody of the ASPCA.

There were no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
