As the first month of the year begins to wind down, it’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to treat yourself—and your sweetheart—this Valentine’s Day. And what better way to celebrate the love-filled holiday than with a decadent red velvet dessert?

Dairy Queen understands the assignment, and it also knows fans don’t mess around when it comes to their favorite Blizzards. That’s why the chain is bringing back its beloved Valentine’s Day Blizzard Treat for yet another year.

Dairy Queen’s Red Velvet Cake Blizzard Returns

Dairy Queen

Dairy Queen’s Red Velvet Cake Blizzard Treat is officially returning on Jan. 26. The dessert, which features DQ’s signature soft serve swirled with red velvet cake pieces and cream cheese icing, originally joined the menu in 2014. Since then, customers have continuously asked Dairy Queen to bring the flavor back—even asking for it to return during months besides February.

“Please bring this back soon! It was the best thing I ever had,” one customer wrote on Instagram.

No need to worry; the Red Velvet Cake Blizzard will return for the entire month of February. Surprisingly, though, it will not be joined by its equally beloved counterpart, the Red Velvet Blizzard Cupid Cake. Instead, the ice cream cake will be replaced by Valentine’s Cupcakes.

Dairy Queen’s cupcakes are the chain’s best-kept secret that make their social media rounds every few months. The treats are like mini ice cream cakes in a single-serve cup, made with layers of cake, fudge, the iconic crunchy filling, vanilla soft serve, and chocolate soft serve.

The Valentine’s Cupcakes are also topped with pink, red, or white frosting and heart-shaped sprinkles. The cupcakes come in a two-pack for $6, so, just like the Blizzard Cupid Cake, they serve two people—making them perfect for your date night or Galentine’s Day celebration. You can grab the Valentine’s Cupcakes at participating DQ locations, while supplies last.

And, hey, this red velvet dessert doesn’t have to be enjoyed only on Valentine’s Day. That’s why it’s available all month long as DQ’s Blizzard of the Month. It could be a great mid-day pick-me-up, a sweet treat after your team loses the Super Bowl, or the perfect indulgence for Fat Tuesday. So, whatever your February plans look like, making time for a DQ run is a must.
