The first major snowstorm of 2026 in Western New York isn’t just bringing snow and gusty winds to the 716, it is bringing a dangerous drop in our temperatures as well.
Sub-Zero Wind Chills Expected Across Western New York
Things are going to get really cold across Western New York. This latest storm is going to drop the wind chills across Western New York on Monday night into Tuesday morning. Wind chills could drop as low as -20 for parts of Western New York.
Winter Storm Warning In Place For Western New York
On top of sub-zero wind chills, there will also be plenty of snow across Western New York. A lake effect snow band will be bouncing up and down over Western New York, dropping several inches to several feet between now and Thursday morning.

The current Winter Storm Warning is in place until 3 pm on Wednesday. According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, travel around the area will be impacted by the storm.
Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel
treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Travel will be very difficult in deep snow covered roads. Areas of blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday evening through the Wednesday morning commutes. Gusty winds will down tree branches and cause isolated power outages.
