STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — In New York City’s general election on Tuesday, Nov. 4, Staten Islanders will have their chance to vote for mayor, public advocate, city comptroller, borough president and their City Council member.

There will also be an election for New York Supreme Court 13th Judicial District and New York City Civil Court Richmond County 1st Municipal Court District.

Voters will decide on six ballot proposals this election, including five New York City charter amendments aimed at streamlining housing development and modernizing city operations.

Early voting for Staten Islanders begins on Oct. 25 and concludes on Nov. 2.

The early voting schedule is as follows:

Saturday, Oct. 25, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 26, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 27, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 28, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 29, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 30, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 31, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 1, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

To vote in this election, residents must register to vote prior to Oct. 25.

You can register as a voter at https://e-register.vote.nyc. To qualify as a voter, you must meet the following criteria, as listed on the Board of Elections in the City of New York e-register website:

Be a U.S. citizenBe 18 years old by the end of this year (you may preregister at 16 or 17 but cannot vote until you are 18)Not be in prison for a felony convictionNot claim the right to vote elsewhereNot be found to be incompetent by a court
