RILEY COUNTY—One person was injured in a 4-vehicle crash that occurred just before 6p.m. Monday in Riley County.

The Kansas Highway patrol reported a 2003 Honda Accord driven by Elysia P. Bowles, 19, Randolph, was eastbound on U.S. 24 at 59th Avenue. The Honda rear-ended a 2012 Subaru Forester driven by Killian T. Koenig, 16, Manhattan, who was stopped and yielding to turn left.

After impact the Honda traveled into the westbound lane and struck a westbound 2008 Chrysler Town & Country driven by Harry Everett Whitney III, 70, Manhattan. The impact pushed the van into a westbound 2024 Toyota Rav 4 driven by Connie M. Schmidt, 78, Manhattan, who was stopped at the stop sign.

EMS transported Schmidt to Via Christi. Bowles and Koenig had minor injuries and were not transported for treatment. All four were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
