Woman Was Allegedly Kidnapped in Rochester
The thought of someone kidnapping a child has to be a parent’s worst nightmare, but a reported kidnapping in Upstate, New York, turned into a police chase early Tuesday morning and ended with a mother under arrest.
According to Irondequoit Police, the investigation began around 9 p.m. Monday when they received reports that Xiomara Weeks and her two young children, ages 2 and 4, were being held against their will for money.

Police Chase Ensues
Weeks was last seen leaving her Birchwood Drive home in Irondequoit, but never made it to her reported destination in Rochester.
Officers tracked her vehicle to the Town of Greece. Then they say that at around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, several people got into the car and sped off.
A chase followed through parts of Greece and Rochester, ending back on Birchwood Drive after officers successfully deployed spike strips.

Weeks and another adult passenger were taken into custody. Her children were found in the back seat, unharmed and in good spirits. Family members later took custody of the children, and Child Protective Services was notified.
Woman Lied About Being Kidnapped
After further investigation, police determined the original kidnapping report could not be verified.
Weeks now faces multiple charges, including:
Two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a ChildTwo counts of Second-Degree Reckless EndangermentUnlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer.She was processed and taken to the Monroe County Jail pending arraignment.
Irondequoit Police thanked the Rochester Police Department, Greece Police Department, and New York State Police for their assistance in the case.
