The rapper accused of shooting New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd grinned at supporters inside a Manhattan courtroom Wednesday — as prosecutors revealed the football player is still languishing in a hospital bed.
Frederick Green, 20, pumped his fist at a group of pals and family while smiling broadly inside Manhattan Supreme Court after pleading not guilty to attempted murder charges for the Nov. 16 Midtown shooting that left Boyd fighting for his life.
“He had surgery a few weeks ago. As of less than a week ago, my information is he is still in the hospital,” Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Shilpa Kalra said of Boyd, noting he’s improved over several weeks and is listed in stable condition.

The chaos unfolded when the drill rapper and pals mocked Boyd, teammates Jamien Sherwood and Irvin Charles for wearing flashy outfits while out at Asian-fusion hotspot Sei Less on West 38 Street around 2 am, authorities said.
“Outside, there is a verbal altercation that goes down the block. It dissipates,” Kalra said, adding Green was spotted on video “putting a mask on.”
Moments later, another verbal altercation broke out, leading to a “melee,” according to prosecutors.
“During the physical altercation, there is pushing and shoving but no other weapons, no other weapons are seen,” Kalra told Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Gregory Carro.
“The defendant is seen taking out a firearm, you can see the muzzle flash. He shoots twice directly at the victim in this case.”
A bullet went through Boyd’s pulmonary artery, with the cornerback still going through surgeries months later, Kalra noted.

Green, a drill rapper who goes by “Tbo Zay,” allegedly fled the scene in a white BMW.
The next day, he hid in Buffalo, where he cut his hair, deleted his social media accounts and deactivated his phone in a failed attempt to hide from police, prosecutors alleged.
Police caught him there at a girlfriend’s apartment weeks later.

Boyd — a 5-foot-11 defensive back for Gang Green — joined the Jets in 2025. He previously played for the Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals and the Houston Texans.
Green’s next court appearance is set for April 22.
