Ruth Anne Malnati, daughter of Ruth Schumacher and Joseph Howe, was born and raised on Staten Island. A graduate of Notre Dame College in 1958 and Wagner College in 1960, she dedicated her career to early childhood and kindergarten education in New York and Massachusetts. She married Robert Malnati, also of Staten Island, in 1965, and together they resided in Staten Island, Hauppauge, N.Y., Acton, Mass., and Littleton, Mass.

Ruth was devoted to her family, which included three sons, six grandchildren, four brothers, and a sister, as well as an extended family of over 100 nieces, nephews, and their descendants. She served as an active member of the Acton Women’s Club and the Emerson Hospital auxiliary, and devoted considerable time to her parish activities.
