Iceberg ahead … in the living room! Titanic movie superfan Sarah Boll recently transformed her Manhattan apartment into rooms on the ill-fated ship.
Sarah, a 38-year-old model, told People she’s seen James Cameron’s 1997 film more than 500 times, has visited a number of Titanic exhibits and as a child wore a necklace made of coal from the ship.

Sarah started to recreate Titanic in her apartment for a party. “I never had [the party] because I could never finish this apartment,” she recalls. “I didn’t want to show anyone [the place] because in my mind, I’m like, ‘This isn’t good enough. It needs to be better.’”
Then, she admits, “things completely got out of control,” and she was adding new pieces every day.

Sarah transformed her living room into a copy of the ship’s Verandah Café by attaching porthole and gold decals to the walls; installing gilded panels to her bedroom; putting up the names of the victims in one of her bathrooms; and turning the second bedroom into the Water Room.
“I would just buy tons of different shades of blue fabric and sometimes white, if it was this reflective kind, and then I would just experiment with that,” Sarah says. “So I have an insane amount of blue fabric.”

Sarah estimates she’s spent thousands on her digs. A Titanic-inspired cherub set her back $900, and she even purchased a pricey brass ship bell.
But like the real ship, ultimately her Titanic apartment was doomed. Sarah is now in the midst of her next themed renovation: The Wizard of Oz!
