The New York State Police have arrested a man from Mexico in Upstate New York who was traveling with 16 pounds of MDMA and approximately two pounds of fentanyl.
The New York State Police (NYSP) have announced the arrest of a 43-year-old man from Mexico after troopers discovered a massive amount of controlled substances in the vehicle he was driving.
Massive Drug Bust in Saratoga Springs, New York
According to a NYSP press release, the massive drug bust happened on October 14, 2025, at about 6:25 p.m. when troopers from Troop G stopped a vehicle traveling on I-87 in Saratoga Springs, NY for a traffic violation.
As troopers were conducting the traffic stop with the assistance of State Police K9 “J,” they uncovered multiple vacuum-sealed bags in the vehicle that allegedly contained controlled substances.

Following the discovery, troopers tested the substances and determined that approximately 16 pounds of the substances contained Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) and approximately two pounds of the substances contained Fluorofentanyl (Fentanyl).

Troopers arrested the driver of the vehicle, identified as 43-year-old Joseph R. Warren, of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Warren was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first, second, and third degrees, along with vehicle and traffic law violations.
Once in custody, Warren was transported to the State Police Saratoga barracks for processing.
Following the arrest, he was arraigned at the Saratoga Springs City Court in Saratoga Springs, NY, and was remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility without bail.
