NEW YORK (PIX11) – A winter storm is approaching New York City, with temperatures expected to drop to around 10 degrees on Saturday night. PIX11 News has learned that three New Yorkers were found dead in different parts of the city, according to police.
Officers received a 911 call for aid at 7:45 a.m. near 5293 Third Avenue. A 67-year-old man was found dead, police said.
Two other people were later found dead on New York City streets, officials said.
At 9:25 a.m., near Remsen Avenue, a 64-year-old woman was also found dead. At the same time, on Warren Street, another man was also found dead, authorities said.
All three individuals were homeless and showed no signs of trauma, according to police sources.
A winter storm warning and a code blue remain in effect as New York is expected to be buried under up to 10 inches of snow on Sunday.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death for each, officials said.
If you see a homeless person outside in these frigid temperatures, call 311.
