Nike’s latest collaboration celebrates skateboarding women in the Bronx.

The Nike SB Dunk Low Pro x Bronx Girls Skate Black and Challenge Red shoes go live on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 10 a.m. ET for $140 a pair.

A grassroots organization, Bronx Girls Skate was started in 2020 by Mel Ramirez and Kava Vasquez to support the thriving women’s skating scene at River Avenue Skate Park. Six years later, they’re carving out more spaces across the city for the growing community.

This SB Dunk Low is largely inspired by NYC transit colors. On the classic black and white colorway, you’ll find green, orange and red edge highlights, taking from the NYC train lines the group uses to navigate the city. Each pair also comes with three coordinated lace options to choose from.

On the outsole, Bronx Girls Skate chose to add custom subway art, BXGS graffiti lettering and “The Bronx, The World” on the heels. Both heels are adorned with door knocker earring-inspired jewelry and the laces feature nameplate dubraes. Don’t skip out on the sock liner though – Kava and Mel gave the wearer a special message to take with them when they skate.

Nike’s limited-edition sneaker releases sell out fast, especially collaborations. Plan to be online to get your pair first thing Tuesday, and support Bronx Girls Skate.
