Rock band My Chemical Romance has set social media abuzz after posting a mysterious video that appears unrelated to their current tour, leading fans to speculate about the potential for new music.

The New Jersey group shared the cryptic post to Instagram Sunday featuring the word “PHANTOM” displayed in flickering neon green letters. The video contained no music or sound and was captioned “A GAME YOU WILL PLAY.” Guitarist Frank Iero also shared the clip to his personal Instagram account.

The post marks a notable departure from the band’s ongoing world tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of “The Black Parade.” Unlike the tour’s aesthetic, the video’s minimalist presentation and neon styling suggest something entirely different may be in development.

The band, which includes Frank Iero, Ray Toro, and brothers Mikey and Gerard Way, hasn’t released new music since their 2022 single “Foundations of Decay,” though they’ve built their reputation on albums like “I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love,” and “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.” f

The band has offered no official explanation for the “PHANTOM” teaser, leaving fans to piece together clues about what the cryptic message may mean.
