STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Island high school football players had another nice showing in 2025 as 23 gridders were selected to New York State Sportswriters Association all-state teams, including four Class AA first-teamers.

Overall, Class AA had 15 Islanders while Class A and B had six and two honorees, respectively.

The list of 23 included seven honorable mentions.

Leading the way are Monsignor Farrell senior running back Kevin Gumb and junior offensive tackle Carlo Della Ragione, as well as Tottenville senior running back Tyshawn Bent, all of whom were selected to the Class AA first-team offense.

Curtis senior defensive lineman Jarrett Serate was the lone first-team defense honoree.

Farrell sophomore quarterback Bryce Moye and Port Richmond senior all-purpose selection Kasiem Cromwell were both second- team offense selections.

Rounding out the Class AA team selections are Farrell senior defensive lineman Cole Savino (fourth team defense), sophomore wide receiver Braxton Moye (fifth team offense), sophomore defensive back Charles Costanzo (fifth team defense) and senior wide receiver Alex Ustun (sixth team offense); Tottenville senior quarterback Justin McGuire (sixth team offense) and Curtis all-purpose selection Akai Lewis (sixth team offense).

Class AA honorable mentions included Tottenville junior wide receiver Nic Constantino and junior all-purpose selection Kory Brown and senior defensive lineman Jaden Innocent.

St. Joseph by-the-Sea junior running back Joey Moran and McKee/Staten Island Tech junior running back Sinkay Thomas were the Island’s highest Class A selections as both earned spots on the fifth team offense.

Class A honorable mentions went to St. Peter’s junior quarterback Anthony D’Acunto, sophomore defensive lineman Chris Badon and junior defensive back Chase Navarro, as well as Sea senior linebacker Michael Zawatsky.

Petrides had a pair of Class B all-state honorees, including senior running back Joshua Okwuabueze (third team offense) and senior all-purpose selection Michael Giordano (fourth team offense).
