Firefighters battled a blaze at a ShopRite food-preparation building in Linden late Tuesday afternoon — the second time in three years that a fire has occurred at the facility, officials said.
The 2-alarm fire was reported just before 4 p.m. at World Class Kitchens Commissary – Saker ShopRites on East Elizabeth Avenue and was brought under control about an hour later, according to a statement from the Linden Police Department.

No injuries were reported, and the road was still closed between Adams Street and North Park Avenue as firefighters continued to work at the scene, the department said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
In December 2022, a three-alarm fire broke out in the same building, which prepares food that is delivered to ShopRite supermarkets.
