WFAN host Craig Carton didn’t hold back in mocking the New York Giants after they lost out on Todd Monken as offensive coordinator.
In a fiery on-air rant, Carton questioned how Giants fans could reconcile the situation, sarcastically calling it an embarrassment that new head coach John Harbaugh — fresh from Baltimore — failed to lure his former Ravens OC Monken to New York.
Carton highlighted that the Giants had negotiated a deal with Monken, who had orchestrated explosive offenses in Baltimore and at Georgia. Yet Monken opted for the Cleveland Browns’ head coaching job instead — a franchise Carton labeled the “worst team in the NFL” and “dysfunctional,” especially without a clear quarterback.
“The guy he wants is a rock star,” Carton said of Monken. “I’ve got a choice: I could be the offensive coordinator in New York City with the great Jackson Dart, or I could be the head coach for [a] dysfunctional team in Cleveland without a quarterback. And he chose the latter.”
Carton admitted it could work out if the Giants land a strong replacement like Greg Roman, but he urged fans not to downplay the setback.

Known as a notorious Giants critic and Jets supporter, Carton has previously dismissed Harbaugh’s potential, claiming he won’t win a Super Bowl in New York.
Reports confirm the Giants were close to finalizing Monken as OC before Cleveland hired him, forcing a pivot in their search.
