STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Wakefern Food Corporation is hosting walk-in job fairs at five of its grocery chains this weekend, and two Staten Island ShopRite locations will participate in the event. Job seekers can explore opportunities at the Mariners Harbor and Charleston stores on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“From the produce department to the deli counter, we’re looking for great, qualified people to join our family,” the company noted on its website.
The hiring event will take place at participating store locations across New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and managers are recruiting for full-time, part-time and management positions. No advance registration is required — candidates can simply stop by to speak with hiring teams and learn more about available roles.
In addition to ShopRite, other Wakefern supermarket banners will participate in the event, including Price Rite Marketplace, The Fresh Grocer, Gourmet Garage and Fairway Market.
Open positions include general clerks, front-end associates, stocking staff and grocery department team members, among others. Wakefern noted that all roles offer benefits, and many positions include on-the-job training, flexible scheduling and access to a unique game-based learning platform designed to help associates build skills and advance their careers.
“In addition to professional development opportunities, team members may be eligible for tuition and entertainment discounts, scholarship programs and the chance to contribute to meaningful community initiatives, including hunger relief and sustainability efforts,” Wakefern noted in a press release.
