Queens of the Stone Age have cancelled a performance in Berlin on October 23rd.

The American rock band, fronted by Josh Homme, are currently playing an intimate run of shows across Europe in select theatres as part of their The Catacombs tour, which is inspired by the historic concert they played deep underground in Paris last year.

Upon announcing the dates, Queens of the Stone Age said the set would feature “all-new arrangements crafted specifically for the occasion” and “draw upon the spirit of those sublime subterranean renditions and infuse it into reimagined versions that promise to twist the volume knob in both directions”.

Therefore, due to the nature of the shows, Queens of the Stone Age have a set of requirements which they claim that the Berlin venue failed to fulfil.

Queens of the Stone Age began their statement, “The concert organiser failed to tell us that Theater Des Westens was unable to put on ‘The Catacombs’ show as intended.”

They continued, “We were surprised by this news at such a late stage making it impossible to relocate the show. Therefore, it is with extreme disappointment that we announce ‘The Catacombs Tour’ performance planned for 23 October has been cancelled.”

The rockers added: “We are angered, frustrated, and shocked by the decisions made. The disrespect shown towards you and your valuable time and money that resulted in this action is inexcusable.”

Fans who bought tickets from the concert’s official ticketing partner, Eventim, will receive an automatic refund.

The tour is set to visit Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and Antwerp before concluding at the Royal Albert Hall in London on October 29th. The North American leg will then resume on November 8th in Santa Barbara at the Arlington Theatre, stopping off in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Austin and New Orleans.
