STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — In honor of those who have died, here is a compilation of obituaries posted on [SILive]

James “Jimmy” Biggica, a talented craftsman born and raised on Staten Island, passed away recently. He relocated to the Pocono Mountains in Oct. 2002, where he continued to pursue his passions. Beginning his martial arts training at 10 years old at a Goju Karate dojo in South Beach, Jimmy became a lifelong student of martial arts philosophy, particularly Jeet Kune Do and Wing Chun. He attended Curtis High School and trained diligently, driven by his admiration for Bruce Lee.

Jimmy taught himself to build Wing Chun wooden dummies, constructing his first on the balcony of his Bay Terrace apartment using books by Yip Man as his guide. Inheriting woodworking talent from his father, Donald, and an artistic eye from his mother, Carol, he founded Warrior Martial Art Supply, an online company through which he hand-carved and personalized Wing Chun dummies for customers worldwide, with his work reaching Africa and Japan.

Jimmy is survived by his parents, his sister Sharon, twin nieces Liliana and Olivia, and brother-in-law Lou. He was a devoted dog owner and proud Corvette enthusiast who built a dedicated garage for his vehicle.
